Family photoshoot in Tenerife
A holiday together, and finally photos with all of you in them. Children can run, laugh and wander while I follow with the camera – no stiff lines, no ‘say cheese’.
A family photoshoot that works with children, not against them
On holiday, someone is always behind the phone – usually a parent. A family photoshoot in Tenerife puts everyone in front of the camera, and it doesn’t have to be a chore. I keep sessions light, playful and short enough for small attention spans. Children are welcome to run, dig in the sand, hop over puddles or hide behind a parent’s legs. That is exactly what I photograph.
I give simple, friendly prompts – race to that rock, tickle your dad, whisper a secret to mum – and let real moments happen. You do not need to be photogenic or patient. If a toddler melts down halfway through, we pause, have a snack and carry on.
Near your hotel or villa
Families shouldn’t have to drive across the island with tired children just for a photo. Tell me where you are staying and I will look for a beach, garden, path or quiet corner nearby with good light. If you would like something more dramatic, such as black sand, volcanic rocks or a green forest, I will tell you honestly what is realistic for your timing and your children. Browse ideas in the Tenerife photoshoot locations guide.
Best time for a family session
With children, timing matters more than anything. The middle of the day is hot, bright and tiring, so I avoid it. The best windows are:
- Early morning. Soft light, cooler air, empty beaches and kids with energy.
- The hour before sunset. Warm, golden light, but plan it after nap time and before dinner.
When you send your dates, I will tell you the exact sunrise and golden-hour times for your stay and suggest the slot that fits your family’s rhythm.
What to bring
- Water and a small snack for the children – a little sweet treat works wonders.
- Sun hats and sunscreen, applied before we start.
- A light layer for wind or evening air.
- Soft, natural colours that go together without matching exactly. See the packages – Classic and Premium include a moodboard with outfit ideas.
- A favourite toy or bubbles, if your child has a go-to distraction.
Multi-generation and milestone sessions
Grandparents, cousins and everyone in between are welcome. A family from one of my Google reviews booked a session to celebrate their mum’s 75th birthday, and I like creating space for those gatherings: one big group photo, then smaller combinations, then quiet portraits. Expecting a baby? A maternity session is also a beautiful way to start your family story – see the portrait and maternity photoshoots, or the couples sessions if you would like some time just for the two of you.
